Well now that the dust has well and truly settled on the Jim Clark Rally it is time to take stock, the biggest happening was the Swinton stage crash of Peter Gibson and Chris Dodds in their Mitsubishi Evo 6, fortunately the crew were unharmed, unfortunately the same could not be said of the previously immaculate car. Peter reckons the shunt will put him out of rallying for this year at least. It is going to be a long hard road back so I am sure we all wish him well on getting the car fixed.

It was also tough luck for Paul and Dan May when their rotor arm broke, but after their crash earlier in the year it is a case of look ahead to the next rally and be thankful the car is in one piece. Phil Morton did not even have to put his half a gallon of petrol in !! as he ran out of time to get the car ready, after Paul Hughes and Jimmy Knox ran out of fuel they finished in one piece and even got an 11th fastest on one stage, so it was a case of running out of road, running out of time and running out of fuel.

Michael Glendinning and Andrew Roughead performed well on the national rally in the Subaru and on the Reiver rally in the MK2 Escort .Dave Thirlwell and Dean Grabham (the best co-driver in Blaydon) did well in the historic car class in 1300 MK1 Escort and just got beaten by a BDA engined car, well done lads.

I marshalled at Duns, Wedderburn and Moon and Star, the drivers on the latter stage were really going for it even in the rain, very impressive.

The Otterburn based Lindisfarne rally has had to be cancelled due to the army holding exercises on the date the rally was due to run.

The club website is proving a great success and soon will have a for sale section, all thanks to Tosh for that. The recent visit to Hexham Motor club was a success, as usual it was good to catch up with the usual faces, the quiz was good fun and the food excellent, like I have said before it does not need to happen for any other reason than to meet our local motor club members elsewhere than on a rally, long may they continue.

The route of the Roger Albert Clark Rally 2010 has been revealed it looks like the Rooken and Highfield stages on the Monday will be our marshalling spot, if I am wrong no doubt someone will tell me! That is about it folks, see you all at the Autosolo on Sunday, Mac.
