Tosh breaks Class Record at Craigantlet

August 2nd saw the Centenary of Craigantlet Hill Climb celebrated in Northern Ireland, and once again Tosh and Brian were over to compete and fly the flag for Whickham and District Motor Clubs overseas arm.

This was the first time that either of them had attempted the hill at Craigantlet, but buoyed by their success in bringing the Sylva home in one piece at Cultra, their hopes were high for a repeat performance, all, of course, depending upon the weather!

The day dawned bright and sunny, and there was not only a full entry but also a good number of reserves, so the prospects were ripe for a cracking days motorsport.

The Gods must certainly have been with them on the day, Brian showing a lot of promise for the future on what was only his second ever motorsport event, and a fast one at that, by progressively lowering his times throughout the day, and showing some much more exotic machinery that you dont need to spend a fortune to be quick.

Tosh managed to lay a few ghosts to rest, by not only keeping the Sylva well off the kerbs on the day, but managing to keep it well within the confines of the tarmac!

Highlight of the day for Tosh was not only winning the Class, but setting a new Class record for the hill while he did it.

As Tony Thompson quite rightly said: "Theres life in the Old Dog yet!"
